Research interests
My research interests have been primarily involved with the application of game theory in music composition - particularly with regards to musical indeterminacy and performer choice. I have incorporated game theory research variously over the course of my postgraduate studies and developed a creative practice which generally involves participation of the performers in game activities during performance.
Language and music
It has been a recent fascination of mine how language and text can inform music composition. I have been particularly interested in how the Greek language has evolved since antiquity and I was inspired by features of the ancient Greek phonology which I found very musical like vowel length and pitch accent.
