BIOGRAPHY

Alex Apostolopoulos holds a degree from the Athens university of economics and business, a Master of Music, and a Master of Philosophy from Newcastle University. Alex holds a PhD from the University of Manchester which he pursued as the recipient of the Harry Clough scholarship.

 

He has collaborated with Distractfold and had pieces workshopped by Opera North, Psappha, Solem Quartet, and Quatuor Danel, as well as premieres by Dimitra Ananiadou, the Manchester University Symphony Orchestra and other UK-based musicians. Alex has presented research papers in the Theory and Analysis Graduate Students’ Conference 2019 (Society for Music Analysis), the BFE-RMA Research Students’ Conference 2020, and the Penn State New-Music Festival and Symposium in 2021 and 2023.
